At Viewpoint Opticians we are very proud to offer a second to none service using only the best quality technology and products available. From glasses to contact lenses we can tailor the perfect eye care solution to suit your lifestyle. We provide eye care including eye examinations, glasses, Contact Lenses and aftercare relevant to your results and/or procedures.

At Viewpoint we are very proud that our optical equipment is some of the only technology found in the country - we use Optical Coherence Tomography - which helps us get a true dynamic view of your eyes. It can help us to detect any anomalies or irregular activity that standard equipment couldn't detect. We are a fully independent organisation and we have no funding from 3rd parties like the NHS.

This means we can use equipment that far surpasses the technology found in a high street or franchised opticians. We also stock a wide range of designer frames with brands including Paul Smith, Porsche, Jimmy Choo and many more. We often get requests for certain prescription sunglasses but with a designer frame, if you wish to enquire about any of our glasses please don't hesitate to call us.
Services
It wasn't long before our unique service was recognised and we became the first optician in the UK to be named as "Contact Lens Practice of the Year".
Demand for our personal, high quality care was such that the practice quickly grew and we soon added two further consulting rooms.
In 2007, after over 20 years of concentrating exclusively on contact lenses, we responded to repeated customer requests and introduced a small but exclusive range of high quality spectacles.
Our ethos for glasses and sunglasses is exactly the same as for contact lenses; we make no compromises and supply only the best products available.
At Viewpoint Opticians we are constantly giving our customers tips and advice on how to keep their eyes clean and healthy.
After all, your eye sight is very important, and any reduction in the quality of your vision would be a terrible loss.
The best thing you can do to assure the highest standards of eye care is to book yourself an appointment for a thorough eye examination with a qualified optometrist.
At Viewpoint we usually recommend our customers visit us at least once a year for a full eye test to keep tabs on how their eyes are doing.
Yes, you should really get your eyes tested roughly every two years.
This is just to make sure that your eyes are healthy and your vision is strong and consistent.
Remember your eyes need to be looked after because you only get one pair!
Treat an eye test the same as your dentist - you go for a check-up every year or so, to make sure everything is as it should be.
Remember if you develop a problem with your eyes, it may already be too late.
Make sure you go to your check-ups.
No, this is completely untrue.
Optical Coherence Tomography or otherwise known an 'OCT' is a new imaging technique that provides high resolution and cross-sectional images of the eye.
In short it gives us opticians a very unique look at the retina and a real accurate representation of your actual eye ball.
An OCT scan allows microstructures of the eye to be imaged and shows different colour-coded layers of the retina.
It is particularly useful in the diagnosis and management of eye conditions such as age related macular degeneration, diabetic macular oedema, macular hole and glaucoma.
In addition to some very well known names, we also offer many frame ranges from smaller companies throughout the world, who design and manufacture their own original and unique collections of eyewear.
For those who appreciate exquisite eyewear and require something extra special we have a stunning collection of gold and jewelled frames made using the finest materials including solid gold, diamonds, natural horn and wood.
The information on each of our brands will tell you more, but only when you visit us and wear the frames will you truly appreciate the unique qualities of these very special spectacles.
