Our Optometrists can refer any patient with a cataract, which needs medical attention, directly to the hospital's waiting list, therefore, reducing waiting times. The eye examination takes between 30 to 40 minutes. It begins with recording any symptoms, personal and family medical history, and medication. The Optometrist will also discuss your lifestyle and visual requirements.

Optical Coherence Tomography, OCT, is an advanced eye scan for all people of all ages. Similar to ultrasound, OCT uses light rather than sound waves to image the different layers that make up the structures at the front and the back of your eye. The OCT machine captures both a photograph and a cross-sectional scan of the eye at the same time. OCT is a new, completely painless and highly advanced imaging system that checks for potentially serious conditions such as Glaucoma, Diabetes, Age-related Macula Degeneration (AMD), vitreous detachments and more.

Our laboratory is equipped with the latest spectacle glazing equipment, which allows us to glaze accurately nearly any style of frame on the premises. This also means we are able to reglaze your own frame quickly, so you are without them for the shortest possible time. A 'tracer' at the practice electronically scans your frames and your prescription and facial measurements are also entered. The lenses then arrive promptly and accurately, which allows us to glaze your frame within 1 hour.

John went away and did a little research and came back with some very interesting information. The bins are emptied regularly and the contents forwarded to Chichester Lions Club for sorting and redistribution.
