Continuity and professionalism are two of the crucial ingredients in guaranteeing patients a caring and consistently high quality level of eye care service. We have always placed great emphasis on an established, family commitment that contributes significantly to the continued success of our opticians. Patient care is our number one priority.
Services
The eye examination is an important health check - during which your eyes will be examined externally and internally for any eye disease.
Our Optometrists can refer any patient with a cataract, which needs medical attention, directly to the hospital's waiting list, therefore, reducing waiting times.
The eye examination takes between 30 to 40 minutes.
It begins with recording any symptoms, personal and family medical history, and medication.
The Optometrist will also discuss your lifestyle and visual requirements.
At Parker Optometrists we concentrate on providing high quality eyewear, carefully selecting frames from a number of reputable companies to ensure we can provide stylish, durable well fitting spectacles.
We stock designer names from many leading companies such as Prada, Bvlgari, Versace, Polo Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Guess, Elle, Radley and Rayban.
Whilst these are not instantly recognisable designer brands, we also stock high quality spectacle frames from Silhouette, Cazal, Face a Face (handmade in Paris) and Charmant.
At Parker Optometrists we always like to keep up with modern advances in instrumentation to ensure that our patients receive the best possible eye care.
Optical Coherence Tomography, OCT, is an advanced eye scan for all people of all ages.
Similar to ultrasound, OCT uses light rather than sound waves to image the different layers that make up the structures at the front and the back of your eye.
The OCT machine captures both a photograph and a cross-sectional scan of the eye at the same time.
OCT is a new, completely painless and highly advanced imaging system that checks for potentially serious conditions such as Glaucoma, Diabetes, Age-related Macula Degeneration (AMD), vitreous detachments and more.
Contact lenses are more versatile than ever before and here at Parker Optometrists we pride ourselves on providing the most innovative lenses along with professional, high quality aftercare.
In the past the choice of contact lenses was limited to either hard or soft and only selected prescriptions or patients were suitable for them.
The introduction of new materials and designs has now opened up contact lens wear to the vast majority of people.
From corrections for astigmatism to near and distance vision or daily disposable to extended wear lenses, we can advise on your suitability for all types of lenses.
Parker Optometrists offers a full NHS eye examination and a range of frames available under the NHS voucher scheme.
In receipt of Universal Credit, Income Support, Income based Jobseekers Allowance, Income-related Employment and Support Allowance or Tax Credit.
Some proof of entitlement would be required on booking the appointment along with your National Insurance number.
Following the eye examination if spectacles are required an NHS spectacle voucher will be issued which entitles you to either free spectacles from our budget range or a price reduction on all other ranges.
