We also require all visitors, even small ones to wear a face mask. If you are exempt we do ask if you can wear a mask during your time in the testing room at least, as you will be within 2 meters of our Optometrists at times during your examination. To keep everyone safe we are limiting the amount of patients in our practice, at one time. This includes needing to come in for repairs, adjustments or collections.

If you have any spectacles or contact lenses on order we will be contact to book you in. Please be aware that if you do turn up without an arranged time slot then our staff may decline to let you into the practice or may not be free to answer the door. We are Thomas Carter Opticians. We are an Independent practice serving reliable, consistent and friendly services the community of Urmston.

Your eye health is as important to us as a great pair of glasses and of course we can provide both. We have the newest technology available at our fingertips to ensure you can leave us satisfied that you know all about your current eye health.

He is responsible for the running of the business and bits and 'bobs' of behind-the-scene parts of what makes Thomas Carter Opticians work.
The future of Myopia is statistically quite grim.
By 2050 it is estimated there will be 4758 million people with myopia (49.8% of the world population).
Myopia is also known by the name 'short-sight'.
It means that you might have great microscopes (your eyes see clearly up close), but your telescopes need some help (seeing further away).
A short sighted eyeball is typically longer than in a person who does not need a correction or prescription to help them focus for distant objects.
Both genetic and environmental factors contribute to a child's chances of becoming short-sighted.
This includes repairs and adjustments of spectacles.
We will contact all patients who have contact lenses or spectacles or order to book a collection appointment.
If you need any help / advice or want to make an appointment please get in touch using 0161 747 5555.
At Thomas-Carter Opticians, we are only too aware of how visual impairment can restrict your benefit from or enjoyment of websites.
Hopefully this accessibility feature will overcome some of that for you.
We are always on the lookout for Locum Optometrists who may be interested in working with our Practice.
We are a dynamic and expanding business and are always looking for people who think like us, and will fit into our team.
Our philosophy is to for our qualified Optometrists to be supported by qualified Dispensing Opticians, who in turn are supported by experienced Optical Assistants.
