Mosspark Opticians Glasgow Southside

I was really pleased to discover that an optician had opened alongside the other shops in my fairly residential street....it's great to see small businesses bucking the trend of the big shopping malls & chain stores taking shops & services away from local communities. When I spoke to the owners of Mosspark Optician they told me that one of the reasons they had opened a family-run optician was because in their previous job working for a chain of opticians, they had often felt unable to take the amount of time for each appointment that they believed necessary to offer the highest standards of customer care. Even after hearing this, I was still amazed at how much care & dedication went into my eye appointment: I could be wrong, but I'm fairly sure Rashida spent over 45 minutes on my eye test, and she did a few things that I don't recall my previous optician doing, so I felt really well & thoroughly cared for. I absolutely love my new glasses, and I was also impressed that Rashida encouraged me to consider glasses from outwith the standard "women's section". Turns out my narrow face meant that the kids' glasses also fit me, so I was able to get a pair which included a UV clip-on sunglasses cover even on my limited budget!! Thank you so much guys - highly recommended!!!

Seems like I can't write a new review but I had to add this in because my son (who is too young for SM to write his own review) attended recently and had a great experience!

As before, Rashida was extremely thorough and took so much time to answer his questions and explain to him what she was doing. She busted out all of the coolest gadgets in her reportoire which he absolutely loved - see the pics attached.

He was actually pretty upset NOT to need glasses by the end of it though! I also had an updated test and finally made the move to varifocals, which I'm very excited about..due to receive them soon. Thanks again guys!! You really made Xani's day with all those gadets :-)

P.s. His dad's comment on some of photos was "A Baby Clockwork Orange Comes to Mosspark" ;-D

Return Visit To Mosspark Opticians

Following my first attendance at Mosspark Opticians last year I received a helpful email reminder that my vision test was due.
I made an appointment, attended, had a comprehensive eye test, received a prescription, chose spectacles and shortly after received an email advising that my spectacles were ready for collection. I again attended when my spectacles were adjusted and fitted.
I've re-read what I posted last year and everything I wrote then holds true now.
To paraphrase:- premises near my home; premises excellent, services excellent, services first class, practitioners a delight to deal with and supremely professional, a convenient local health care service within a small community.
That the same high standards still continue and exist today is to be commended.
Reflecting on what to post I started by thinking of reasons why people would or should go here but I think it's more a question of why wouldn't you?
I've spoken to people, family and friends, and asked why they go to the Opticians they go to and as far as I can it's habit.
The only reasons I can think of to go to further away or multi-branched, High Street Opticians are convenience, service, quality and cost.
I don't think any of these reasons apply here.
Nearer is obviously more convenient particularly when your normal attendance is to drive into Glasgow City Centre, with associated driving and parking hassles.
So far as service is concerned I find it difficult to believe it's better elsewhere. The quality of professional services and spectacles are excellent.
The cost difference, if any, must be negligible.
On the negative side I have never experienced better, more professional, personalised service from the multi-branched High Street stores who have always struck me as a sausage machine process packing patients in at one end, processing them and getting them out the other end as quickly and economically beneficially as possible.
Why put up with that when you don't have to?
Simple answer:- You don't.

Brilliant service from Mosspark Opticians. After using the same Opticians for 40 years. This was a great decision to change. I couldnt fault the service, from start to finish it was first class I will definitely recommend them to my friends or anyone that asks me. Thanks again

I requested an emergency appointment and Nav could not have been more accommodating to help me on the day. Follow up appointments were arranged to ensure my problem was resolved or if I need more support. Good advice given and ongoing treatment arranged. I highly recommend this fabulous opticians.

Second time at MOSSPARK OPTICANS, I find them to be very helpful, thoroughly attentive and very welcoming the extra touches such as the wee tin of mints etc on collection of my glasses were unexpected but gave it a personal touch thanks

In the Mosspark optician i met a skillful eye care specialist who diagnosed, examined, and medically treated my eye conditions. I am happy with my new spectacles.

Fantastic service definitely 10/10. The optician couldnt have been any nicer she really looked after me and gave me her time and helped me select the best glasses for my budget too. I highly recommend this options Ive been going here a while and each time the quality of service is superb thanks so much for everything.

Can't recommend Mosspark Opticians highly enough. Rahila opened the shop to see me at short notice with no appointment and was thorough, diligent and caring throughout, even following up with a call after I'd left.

Rahila put me at ease, was patient with my squeamishness and gave me an explanation in plain language about my issue.

Overall, I thoroughly recommend them and will definitely use them again in future should I have to.

I was a walk in appointment but they fitted me in at short notice, even working around my hair appointment.
Examination was thorough and everything was explained step by step to put me at ease.
No pressure to sell me expensive products, but I was given advice on what to look for for my prescription, face shape and style.
Store was clean and bright.
Staff (husband &wife) were friendly, easy to chat to and put me at ease.
My only critique would be clearer prices on display would be good.

I was recommended to see Rahila at Mosspark opticians because I have had an existing eye condition that had rapidly gone worse and had problems with previous opticians. The examination was of a much higher standard than I have ever experienced before and I am so happy with the care and service I received. I was referred to the eye hospital within a short space of time and have come away with a conclusion that Rahila pointed out right away at the consultation. I had been going from optician to optician for the last year with no clear answers and no hospital referrals. I cannot recommend this optician enough. Thank you Rahila and team . X

Very helpful experience from booking an appointment to my actual eye test. The way the optician took her time in examining my eyes, to actually explaining what was going on with my eyes was first class. I can't thank her enough as i was also late for my appointment but not a problem to her.
This is probably the best optician i've been to because she was so thorough. The optician also gave me advice on which glasses to choose which was another plus. So glad i found this local optician just what the area needed. Can't wait for my new glasses to be able to read again. Very genuine owners. So pleased this opticians has opened up so locally to us. I took myself and my children and they couldnt have been more friendly and accommodating. The optician herself is superb, extremely professional and helpful. Will definitely be back again!

Nice visit to my local opticians.
The optician was pleasant and very thorough. Shop is clean and fresh. I felt no pressure to buy any frames, which is important to me. This all made for a pleasant visit and I would definitely come back again. Thanks.
