Services
At Taylors Optometrists our aim is to provide you with sight and vision care of the highest standard.
We invest in the latest equipment and encourage all to benefit from the latest technology available At Taylors all patients have retinal photographs taken free of charge.
To help us look in more detail at the health of the eye, and to detect and diagnose conditions earlier we have invested in OCT technology.
This allows us to see the back of the eye in more detail than is possible with traditional examination techniques.
This family-run, independent practice has been in existence since the 1940s, originally owned by Jimmy Rutter in conjunction with his pharmacy.
Since then it has been owned by Bob Quin, John Morton, and Wendy and Andy Diddams.
We have provided excellent care and professional service to the local community ever since.
Throughout the years, we have ensured that we are offering the lastest technology in eye examinations and providing the highest quality of patient care.
All our sight tests include a check of your prescription and the health of your eyes and eyelids, as well checks for specific conditions such as Glaucoma, where appropriate.
We are proud to include retinal photographs at no extra charge, allowing us to see changes in the eye and detect any problems as early as possible.
A key part of our service is that we will take the time to properly explain the results of your sight test.
This is particularly beneficial for patients at risk of Glaucoma or Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD).
At Taylors Optometrists we have provided free Digital Retinal Photographs as part of our routine sight tests since 1999.
These Digital Retinal Photographs allow you to see what we can see at the back of the eye.
They enable us to make detailed comparisons of changes in your eyes over time, ensuring we deliver the best possible care to you.
This is particularly useful in the early detection of Glaucoma, macular disease and tumours which are treated more effectively the earlier they are discovered.
We are part of the Cheshire Diabetic Eye Screening Programme (CDESP).
All diabetic patients are invited every year for Digital Retinal Screening by CDESP to detect signs of Diabetic Retinopathy.
We are happy to provide your screening, either alongside your regular sight test (as a diabetic patient, you are entitled to an NHS sight test) or as a standalone appointment.
When you attend your screening appointment, you will have Tropicamide drops in your eyes to dilate your pupils.
You will not be able to drive for several hours after this so please ensure that you have made arrangements to get home.
