We are pleased to announce that we are now happy to see all our customers for all their optical needs. We are still taking extra safety measures including face masks, cleaning between appointments and restricting the number of people in the practice at any one time but we feel we are in a much safer place to invite people into the practice.

We are beginning to send out reminders however, bearing in mind the backlog, we ask that if you feel you are overdue an appointment, please contact us rather than wait for a reminder as it will take a while to catch up.Please note we still have restricted opening hours on Saturdays, so please check first if you need us on a Saturday. Based in Odiham High Street, The Optician Odiham is one of the longest established Independent Opticians in Hampshire.
Services
Our customers appreciate that we are far removed from the 'production line' world of the multiple optician chains; we provide them with a caring, professional service - personal attention that's combined with value for money.
Our small shop front in the High Street belies a much bigger interior complete with extensive displays of spectacle frames and two consulting rooms, including one dedicated to contact lenses.
We offer eye examinations for spectacles, contact lenses, reading aids and many other purposes.
We offer personalised home visits to carry out eye examinations both privately and through the NHS.
We use the latest portable eye testing equipment to provide the same standard of test that you would expect in our High Street practice.
Our experienced and friendly Optician will examine your eyes not only to check your prescription but also to monitor the general health of your eyes which can be an important indicator of other medical issues.
If you are over 60 years of age and unable to travel to a High Street Optician you qualify for a free eye examination at home.
At The Optician Odiham we stock a thoroughly researched supplement which can slow down macular degeneration.
This once a day easy to take capsule combines three macular carotenoids including patented Meso-Zeaxanthin, Lutien and Zeaxanthin all of which combine to aid eye health particularly in those people over the age of 50.
Age related macular degeneration (AMD) is an eye condition which affects a part of the retina called the macular.
This condition can seriously affect your eyesight.
For those people at risk of developing the condition, for which there is no cure and for which treatment options are limited, the addition of a regular nutritional supplement to the diet such as MacShield is now recognised as an effective method of helping to preserve the all important protective macular pigment.
We specialise in supplying the superb range of Maui Jim sunglasses both with full prescription lenses, lenses with a reading add and standard lenses.
Well known for their optical quality and superb contrast, Maui Jim lenses offer the following features.
Oleophobic Coating- repels grease an make smudges and fingerprints easier to wipe away on both sides of the lens.
Antireflective Treatment-blocks reflected light and annoying glare from behind to a clear view helping to eliminate fatigue.
Maui Jim's optically correct distortion free lenses feature patented treatments of rare earth elements to infuse views with colour.
Our qualified Dispensing Opticians are highly trained and can assess your individual requirements.
They will happily take the time to explain the many options available and advise on the most suitable lenses.
We carry a huge selection of frame styles in stock including the major fashion brands catering for all budgets.
We also manufacture lenses at our own dedicated production facility, which means we can control the quality and be highly competitive on price.
Lens technology has advanced by leaps and bounds in recent years which means lenses can be thinner and lighter for all prescriptions, providing greater comfort.
