As an essential service we are open as usual for eye examinations and contact lens care. We have screens and social distancing measures in place, carry out additional cleaning between patients and all staff wear the appropriate PPE. Our practice dates back to the 1950s before the Precinct was built. We are a friendly, professional team and we look forward to welcoming you to the practice.

The Optometrist and Practice Principal is Barbara Braysher B.Sc. M.C.
Optom.
Barbara has been running the practice since 1996 and working here since 1990, when the practice was Marshall Optician in the upper precinct.
Our optical assistants are Brenda, Karen, Pamela and Susan, all of whom have worked at the practice for over 12 years, and Denise, who joined us in 2019.

Many people are entitled to regular eye tests paid for by the NHS, this includes everyone over the age of 60 and under the age of 16 (or under 19 if you are in full time education).

There is a large car park adjacent to the Morrisons store.
The lower car park is busy at times, but there are always plenty of spaces on the top level.
The entrance to this is from Shibdon Road.
The walkway takes you between the Chainbridge Medical Partnership and the Resource Centre, then bear right towards the stairs and lift.
We're in the lower precinct adjacent to the lift.
If you come by public transport, we are just a short walk from the bus and train stations.
