We are a family run business, founded in 1960 by Charles McPherson. Sons Stephen and Malcolm now run the practice. In 2003 their sister, Fiona Florence joined the practice looking after the accounts and now also works in the office. Following extensive refurbishment in 2011, the practice boasts the latest technology to maintain and improve eye health.

Including high-tech equipment, collectively dealing with ultra-thin lightweight spectacles through to complex contact lenses and treatments for eye problems. We believe that an independent practice has a responsibility for each and every one of the patients we see and that we treat everyone as we would like to be treated ourselves; this comes from the practice beginnings.

We are proud to be a family business with our history going back 60 years and two generations of opticians. Since 1996, McPherson Optometry has used digital technology to photograph the back of the eye to enable a more comprehensive examination and detection of abnormal eye conditions.
