Spectacles At Home
NHS domiciliary sight tests are provided on request to those who cannot access local high street opticians unaccompanied due to a mental or physical disability and who would be ordinarily entitled to an NHS sight test. All people aged 60 or over are entitled to a FREE NHS eye examination regardless of status, and Spectacles at Home can provide this mobile service in the comfort of your own home, FREE OF CHARGE.

For those in receipt of Pension Credit, Employment and Support Allowance or a valid HC2 certificate; they will be entitled to a NHS voucher which will cover the FULL COST of basic glasses. We also offer an extensive range of other frames should you wish to choose something different and all glasses will be engraved on the side with patients name, date of supply and what the glasses are to be used for to prevent the confusion of misplaced glasses in a residential home environment.

All glasses will be delivered and fitted approximately one week after eye examination by our full trained and DBS checked staff, and should any adjustments or repairs be needed at any time, we are just a phone call away and pledge to deal with requests immediately.

It is a little known fact that the NHS provide this service.
If you or a loved one are in need of a home visiting optician in Norfolk, then look no further!
A cataract is a clouding of part of your eye called the lens.
To help produce a sharp image the lens must be clear.
The clouding can make your vision become blurred as it acts like a piece of frosted glass, interfering with your sight.
Most people over the age of 60 have some cataract and the vast majority can be treated successfully.
Regular eye tests with your Optician can catch this eye condition in the very early stages.
The only effective treatment for cataracts is a small procedure to remove the cloudy lens.
If you have diabetes this does not necessarily mean that your sight will be affected, but there is a higher risk.
If your diabetes is well controlled then you are less likely to have problems, or they may be less serious.
However, if there are complications that affect the eyes then this may result in loss of sight.
Most sight loss due to diabetes can be prevented but it is vital that it is diagnosed early.
Therefore, regular, annual eye examinations are extremely important, as you may not realise that there is anything wrong with your eyes until it is too late.
