If you're experiencing hearing loss, it can be a cause of real distress and concern.
If it's beginning to have an impact on your daily life, then it might be time to book a hearing test.
Hearing tests are nothing to worry about, and can identify the causes of your problem.
The professional team at Makerfield Eye Centre, can help you regain control of your hearing.
At Makerfield Eye Centre, located in The Gerard Centre, we're proud to offer hearing health services to the people of Makerfield.
Our independent practice is centrally located and convenient.
We also have appointments available later on some evenings please contact us for more details.
If you're an existing patient, don't worry as all prescription records are kept on file so there is no need for you to be sure of your prescription.
If you're a new patient however, we will have to undergo an eye exam to determine your prescription, unless you have an in-date, valid prescription from a qualified practitioner.
The above are general guidelines and more regular eye exams may be required in some cases.
Your eye examination will last for approximately 40 minutes, to allow time for your optometrist to thoroughly examine your eyes and vision.
During this time, you will be asked to complete a series of tests which are all designed to assess your visual status (whether you might be long or short-sighted) and eye health.
None of these are difficult or painful in any way, but are important for your optometrist to be able to accurately prescribe any eyewear, if this is necessary.
You will also have the opportunity to have retinal photographs taken as part of your examination.
As part of our commitment to provide you with the very highest standard of eye care we now offer Retinal imaging as one of our services.
A state of the art Digital retinal camera is used to capture photographic images of the back of your eyes.
This technique is one of the most accurate and advanced ways of screening for many different eye diseases as it allows us to inspect the retina in far more detail compared to conventional methods which were previously relied on.
Through Retinal Image Analysis we can detect a number of conditions including Glaucoma, Diabetes, Hypertension and Age related Macular Degeneration just to name a few.
